MHFA England

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) came to England in 2007 and was developed and launched under the Department of Health: National Institute of Mental Health in England (NIMHE) as part of a national approach to improving public mental health.

In 2009 we became a Community Interest Company (CIC). The MHFA England central office is based in Old Street, London and has a central team of 18 members of staff.  Across England we have 1000 registered instructors delivering our training, each of whom has attended our seven day Instructor Training Programme, taught by one of our 18 National Trainers.
The work of MHFA England is overseen by our CEO Poppy Jaman and the Executive team Fionuala Bonnar, Caroline Hounsell, Bernice Cole & Eleanor Miller. MHFA England is governed by a Board, chaired by Mark Watson-Gandy and non-executive Directors: Amy McKeown, Robert Manson, James Brown and Paddy Cooney. Lord Patel of Bradford is a Patron.
